There comes a time in a girls life when she must ask herself the tough questions. I was pondering one such question this morning as I was dressing. I wondered out loud “do my shoes have to match my handbag”? Funnily enough no one answered because I was addressing this question to my cupboard who as far as I know does not speak - if it did it would simply say “tidy your stuff up”. Normally I would think that yes, your shoes do need to match your handbag but having thought long and hard about this I now have some clarification.

I believe that when you are out casually your shoes and bag do not need to match. For example, if you were heading to Bunnings or the bakery in your pink Haviannas I don’t think that it’s necessary to have a matching pink handbag. On the other hand if your going out for the evening in your black high heels that have a hot red heel (yes, I have these and I looove them!) then it is totally necessary to have a suitable bag. It doesn’t have to be the spitting image of your shoes but must at least match!!

Anyway ladies, I hope that these thoughts might bring you some closure in your quest to decide whether to match or not to match. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this very sensitive subject…

If you could design the perfect bag for your lifestyle what would it be? Mine would be big, lots of great pockets (maybe even a secret one somewhere!), made of beautiful soft leather, maybe multi coloured and never dates! I also love easy access to my stuff and hate rummaging through my bag looking for things so it has to be a big opening area.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what you need most in a bag!
